Berkeley

Got in. But I kinda shrugged it off. At the moment I'm really rather calm about next year. I've been talking with some of my teammates and they've been pretty supportive. They know I didn't FASFA (they don't know why though) and that I can't afford a four year next year. Unlike me, the friend I've been talking to didn't even get into her schools of choice, so she's taking the jr. college route. Maybe being in an atmosphere of people who aren't so competitive in school is a good thing for me. I'm so used to the hustle of who got the best grade or score on a test and who's ranked what in the class and who got accepted where, and maybe it's just made me feel like there is no respectable option outside of the top ranking schools. But chatting with them on the way to our lacrosse game today did me some good. I mean really, the difference in tuition between a community college and a UC is incomparable. I've proven myself (not that I needed to prove anything) able to get where I want to go, but I'm making the mature decision of going where is financially possible. Yeah, I know. That's what everyone has been saying all along, but I think for now I'm actually convinced. Who knows, maybe it'll be fun going to community colllege. I can finally take those photo classes and put my camera to use. And maybe I can take up the offer I was made of a leadership position at my church after graduation?...

I hope this mindset sticks with me, especially tomorrow when I start hearing everyone talk about who is and isn't going to Berkeley :P
