Just a little thank you note

It's only 10:18, but I'm already tired. My schedule is killing me. School, lacrosse practice, symphonic band rehearsal, homework. Ugh. And that's just Mondays. But I can't help but keep myself busy. Makes it easier to avoid problems in life. Especially the ones you have no control over...But I'm here blogging anyways. Avoiding the responsibility of homework. Just trying to keep my brain from exploding. Gah. *tired...

Sorry, I'm ranting. My point: I was going through my blog and suddenly realized I have readers. Readers who leave comments :) . I've been lucky enough to find people I trust enough to share my dilemma with. (Though I honestly don't suggest this to anyone. It's soooo stressful thinking that maybe it might slip their lips.) But I know not everyone is as lucky as me, and carrying such a burdensome secret feels impossible sometimes, especially when you feel like you're alone in your suffering. Reading all your blogs and getting feedback from y'all is the exact reason I started this thing, so thanks. Thank you for the words of wisdom and moral support. It means the world to me.

  1. It's always good to know you're not alone, as cliché as that sounds.

I spent so much time feeling alone and trying to hide my undocumented status that now I try to talk about it every chance I get.

It may make me vulnerable to attacks if the wrong people were to find out, but I feel that every time I tell someone about my situation I a). put a face to the issue of immigration, particularly that of undocumented students, and b). hopefully contribute to creating an atmosphere where other AB540 students don't feel that they're alone.

But again, like you, I don't recommend it for anyone else.

  2. I know what you mean guys. it is an unbearable secret. it feels like your forced to lie. but like you guys, though i'm not open w/ it with everyone i know, i have opened up to friends i trust. and so far, all of my friends are on my side. and it makes me feel good when i can get more people to sign the dream act petitions. i'm sooo glad we're living in the technology age! i would feel soo lonely if i didn't first find out that i wasn't alone in this.

  3. Ditto you guys. Blogging helps keep the demons at bay and connecting with others DOES HELP. I know. Life is an endless struggle and at 24 I sometimes feel 44, but that's just me really. We're all here to encourage and support each other even though we're worlds away. When someone is down, we pick them up and like wise. United we stand and divided we fall.
